About Us
A reader lives a thousand lives before they die.
What did you do with yours?
Knockout Book Bash Signing was dreamed up by Jessie Lane, as a fun way to raise money for various charities while mingling with fellow authors and meeting their incredibly awesome readers. Jessie knew, however, that she would need a level-headed and sensible partner to curtail her over the top ideas.
What do you mean we can't have an author signing
at the top of the Eiffel Tower? #Rude
So Jessie grabbed her good friend, and fellow Kentucky author, JM Madden, and dragged the poor woman into doing the event with her. There might have been some kicking and screaming, but Jessie did get her there!
Their first book signing was held in Louisville, KY in July of 2022 at the Muhammad Ali Center where both JM and Jessie took a lot of inspiration from the rich history and wisdom of the late boxing legend, Muhammad Ali, who once said, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
The signing was a smashing success beyond JM and Jessie's wildest dreams, and they even sold out of their attendee tickets. The chosen charity that year was the Meade County Band Boosters, who were presented with a bank check for $12,500.
the epic story continues...
The second Knockout Book Bash Signing was held on June 29, 2024 at the same venue, and also sold out of attendee tickets. Five hundred readers came to meet and greet with some of their favorite authors while raising money for the rather amazing charity Dogs Helping Heroes, who train and gift specially trained and certified assistance dogs for First Responders, Veterans and Gold Star Families. Dogs Helping Heroes will be presented a bank check for $15,000 and we couldn't be more thrilled about that!
The third Knockout Book Bash Signing is scheduled to be held on June 13, 2026 in Lexington, KY at the Bluegrass Convention Center. We have expanded our event admin team by adding author Barb Shuler and we can't wait to see her at her first signing in 2026. Our chosen charity is the Hardin County Animal Care & Control Shelter and their non-profit counterpart, Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter. We hope to see you there!
